The AFG Rigger Remuneration Fund

AFG (Andy Greenall) was a renowned Australian entertainment rigger with a reputation as a larger than life character and larrikin affectionately known as 'AFG'. He was known for being deeply supportive to upcoming riggers and crew in the industry.

After being diagnosed with brain cancer, Andy passed away in 2023 thanks to the precious right to voluntarily assisted dying and the kind and generous support of Heidi and Nitrox who gave their home and lives to support him in his final months, weeks, days and hours.

Andy's reputation in the industry, not just Australia but worldwide, generated so much support that whilst he was in his final months T-Shirts bearing his face were created and merchandised, thanks to the team at Love Police (aka Band T Shirts) at cost.

Andy was keen to see his legacy live on in the aid of riggers, particularly those new and starting out, and the funds after his passing were transferred to CrewCare Limited. CrewCare is committed to supporting the crew of the live music industry, but also seeks to create a programme for the funds to be used that is inline with the spirit of Andy Greenall, his character and intentions. This is why we have come up with the AFG - Rigger Reimbursement Fund.

AFG lived before he died and ensured he gave before and after he left.

The AFG - Rigger Reimbursement Fund encourages aspiring crew members with interests in entertainment rigging in obtaining relevant qualifications.

The structure works on the basis of:

• A 30% reimbursement of course fees to members enrolling in a Basic course.
• A 20% reimbursement of course fees to members enrolling in an Intermediate course.
• A 10% reimbursement of course fees to members enrolling in an Advanced course.
